Frequently asked questions
How do I know what to charge per hour?
Open Hourly rate calculator › Hourly rate. Enter the net income you want per month, fixed costs, the share of taxes and contributions, holiday weeks, working days and hours and the share of time you can bill. The calculator shows the minimum rate per hour and per day and the revenue needed per month. The Use this rate button carries it to the estimate and profitability. These are estimates for pricing and do not replace an accountant.
How do I estimate the price of a project?
In the Hourly rate calculator, Estimate tab, list the tasks with their hours, the hourly rate, the margin for the unexpected, extra costs, discount and VAT. You see the total before and after VAT and the hours with margin. To send it to the client, then create a Quote in the Invoice Creator with those values.
How do I work out overtime and the profitability of a job?
In the Overtime tab enter the hourly rate, regular and overtime hours and your contract premiums (the starting values follow Portugal’s Labour Code: 1st hour +25%, then +37.5%, rest day or holiday +50%; check yours). In Profitability enter what you received, the hours spent and direct costs to see the real rate per hour against your target. The values are kept only on this device.
