Frequently asked questions

Can I edit any PDF?

The PDF opens to read first; tap Edit PDF to turn on the editing tools. PDF Studio edits recognized text and compatible fields. Incomplete fonts, outlined text and scans may limit editing. Always review the exported file.

What is the difference between Select and Text in PDF Studio?

Select only picks items: one click selects the text, image or signature and shows the floating bar without opening typing. Once selected, drag the item (with the mouse or a finger) to move it. To write, use Text: click existing text to edit it or an empty area to create new text. Double-click or Enter on selected text also opens editing. Text boxes have a dashed outline; when two overlap, click the same spot again to pick the one behind (on a computer, Alt, Ctrl or Cmd + click also works).

How do I merge and organize PDFs?

Choose Organize / Merge in PDF Studio. Add up to 20 files. In the sidebar, switch between Pages and Files; click a page for a large preview and rotate, duplicate or remove it. On mobile, use Pages / Files to open the sidebar and close it to return to the preview. In Final page order, mix pages from different files using drag, buttons or a numeric position. Group by file replaces the manual order after confirmation. To extract pages, use Select page ranges (for example, 1–3, 7) and Download selection. Numbers refer to the current final PDF order; ranges do not reorder pages. Download the result or continue editing. Limit: 25 MB total and 100 pages.

How do I split a PDF into multiple files?

In Organize / Merge, open Split into PDFs and separate groups with semicolons: 1–3; 4–6; 7, 9. Positions follow the final order; omitted pages are not included and a page can appear in more than one part. Prepare the split, then review/download each part separately with its real size and optional compression. Each result follows your plan limit. Changing the order or pages requires preparing the split again.

Why does the PDF font change when editing?

Some PDFs contain only part of the original font’s characters. If it cannot be used, the tool indicates an editing font or alternative. When that happens, a small ⓘ button appears next to the font name: tap it to see the original font and the options without covering the selected text. Check the appearance and use Load font when needed.

What happens to form fields when merging PDFs?

The organizer requires permission to turn form fields into fixed content; they will no longer be fillable. PDFs with signature fields or XFA are not accepted at this stage; password-protected PDFs open once you type the password. Internal links, bookmarks and attachments may not be preserved.

How do I see the final size and compress my PDF?

Choose Download or Merge and download: the Finish PDF panel prepares the file and shows its actual size. The organizer also shows each source file’s size. Enable Compress without quality loss and optionally enter a maximum in KB or MB. This preserves image resolution, text and fonts; already optimized PDFs may not shrink. If the result exceeds your maximum, you must explicitly accept downloading above it. A selection’s size refers only to the selected pages. For files with photos or scans, use Reduce images (High quality, Medium or Smaller file): images are saved again with less detail, text and fonts do not change, and the preview shows the page before and after, with a zoom option.

How do I remove an image or signature added to a PDF?

Select the image or signature. Use the red bin in the floating bar that appears beside the selection or Delete in the top toolbar after Undo and Redo. Undo restores an accidental deletion. The floating bar only appears while the item is selected.
