Frequently asked questions
How do I reduce, resize or convert several images at once?
Open Image Studio and add up to 50 images (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or BMP; up to 30 MB each). In Settings for all, choose the format (keep, JPG, PNG or WebP), the quality and the size: maximum width and height (the image only gets smaller and keeps its proportions) or a percentage. Each card shows the size before and after. You can rotate and crop each image (free, 1:1, 4:3, 16:9…) and download them one by one, all in a ZIP, or as a PDF with one image per page. Everything runs on your device; images are not uploaded.
Do iPhone HEIC photos work? What about location data?
HEIC opens when the browser supports it (for example, Safari on iPhone and Mac); in other browsers, share the photo as JPG or, on iPhone, choose Settings › Camera › Formats › Most Compatible. When converting, reducing, rotating or cropping, the image is saved again and camera and location data (EXIF) is removed. If the image was already optimized and nothing would change, the original is kept so it does not grow; in that case its original data stays as it was. WebP depends on the browser: if it cannot save it, choose JPG or PNG. In JPG, transparent areas become white.
Which format and quality should I choose for images?
For photos, JPG at 70% to 85% quality usually cuts the size a lot with no visible difference. PNG is better for logos, screenshots and images with transparency, but it is larger for photos. WebP is usually smaller than JPG at the same quality, but some older programs do not open it. To send by email or for a website, limit the width and height (for example, 1600 px). Compare the size before and after on each card and download the version you prefer.
